Forensic Clinician
Qualifications
Masters in Social Work or Counseling and a current LCSW/LPC are required. Experience in providing psychotherapy. A genuine desire for forensic clinical services and a comfort in moving about within the county jail system.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual counseling for adults involved in the criminal justice system.
- Conduct the evaluation to assess, or where appropriate, render, a mental health diagnosis and to determine whether the consumer is clinically and case management appropriate, and what, if any services the consumer can be linked with.
- Determine whether or not consumers are eligible for the Morris County Prosecutors Mental Health Diversion Program based upon their clinical evaluations.
- Screen and complete intake assessments for new clients.
- Complete mental health assessments and evaluations within the county jail.
- Connect clients with community resources and referral, as needed.
- Coordinate treatment with Program Director and Forensic Case Managers.
- Draft and maintain treatment plans with consumers.
- Record keeping as required by funding sources thorough the electronic clinical record software, and/or accreditation agencies.
- Must meet all expected productivity levels, in regard to direct service provision to consumers. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
