Security Guard - SORA
MHA is looking for an unarmed, SORA certified Security Guard to join our Prospect House Program operating out of East Orange, New Jersey.
Prospect House is our adult day treatment/partial care program servicing adults 18 and over who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental diagnoses. Prospect House helps individuals successfully manage their diagnoses and significantly lower their risk for re-hospitalization through a highly regarded, psycho-social rehabilitation program.
The ideal candidate will possess the following Qualifications:
- Position requires a current SORA certification.
- Previous experience in security, corrections, or law enforcement strongly preferred.
- A valid Driver’s License in good standing required. Able to comfortably operate a 12 passenger van.
- A demonstrated ability to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for members and visitors
Responsibilities:
• Open the building by 6:45 a.m. and prepare the facility for daily operations.• Perform regular tours of the facility, ensuring the environment is safe and secure.
• Unlock and secure activity areas and parking lot gates.
• Check thermostats to maintain building comfort.
• Greet members and visitors, oversee sign-in/logs, and notify staff of visitors.
• Receive deliveries and notify staff for distribution.
• Assist with phones, transportation, errands, and daily van transportation logs.
• Coordinate and document monthly fire drills with the Program Director.
• Close and secure the facility, including locking doors, windows, activity areas, and parking lots
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Program Director and Administrative Coordinator
Annual Base Rate: $42K + Benefits
Fully paid medical coverage for eligible staff.
